Grouping
Under Grouping, each candidate is allocated to a single group and mating rules are applied to these groups. For example, don’t mate a bull from farm A with a cow from farm B. Please see the video below for a quick overview of this option.
Max/Min Matings
Section titled “Max/Min Matings”For each group, you can specify the Max and Min Matings as described in the video above.
Natural Mating Males
Section titled “Natural Mating Males”For male groups, check this option if each individual male in the group can only be used in one female group. For Example:
- If you have a male group consisting of males from which semen can be collected then don’t enable this checkbox since you can use this semen to AI females in multiple groups.
- If you have a male group consisting of males to be used for natural mating only then enable this checkbox. Then each individual male in this group can only be used in a single female group, because he must stay in the group (typically farm or paddock) where he is being used.
